WHAT are your expectations when visiting the Arctic Capital Tromsø? As a Captain here in town I get many questions whether we have cinemas or if its dangerous walking night times and being attacked by polar bears.
To answer the first first, we actually have 2 cinemas. One of them a stylish retro cinema one of the oldest in Europe and you can get served a cocktail while watching a classic movie https://www.verdensteatret.no/ . So here north of Alaska and Greenland to many surprise we live a New York in miniature or Paris in North as we have been called.
So are there any hungry polarbears in town? Depending on what type you are looking for there are quite some souls around, and many years ago we had some real polar bears walking around. So Tromsø is not only the northern lights, dog sledging whales and plenty of bars, its a fascinating city with lots of history you as a visitor should come and take part in.
I invite you to come and join me on a trip with my polar expedition cruiser where all stories continue and you get what you want, or as one enthusiastic guest told me: You dont know what you get but YOU GET IT.
So to all you visitors in Tromsø, dont just book a tour on a third party app and jungle out, book direct with a local supplier and take part in the real story. And ofcourse feel you are very welcome starting your voyage in Tromsø aboard with Captain Mads. You find us in the middle of Tromsø.
